Magnet Symposium 2024

We are proud to present the 2024 edition of the Magneet Symposium, our largest professional event of the year!

This year's theme: “Embrace the Undiscovered”.

The theme is in line with the unprecedentedly large changes that Tata is undergoing as a company but can also be projected onto many other companies in the Netherlands. The energy transition affects every sector, and we believe that it can be achieved only through cooperation. Together with young professionals from different companies and sectors, we want to step out of our own bubble and think outside the box by sharing, learning and connecting.

The main questions of the day will be: How do you step out of your comfort zone? How to deal with uncertainties when there is so much at stake? Let us discover how we can take this huge dive into the deep together.

Optional on 28 June before the start of the symposium 2024. The Tata Steel site is as large as the city of Bussum and is spread over three municipalities. A lot happens behind the gates of our company: raw materials arrive by ship and, after various process steps, are transported as rolls of steel that go to our customers by rail, inland vessel, seagoing vessel or truck. Ultimately, our steel, a sustainable product that is infinitely recyclable, ends up with you as a consumer. For safety reasons, the Tata Steel site in IJmuiden does not allow private visits.

We will drive around the site in a coach and tell the story of steel making. But of course, also about the future way of making steel with hydrogen. We will visit Hot Strip Rolling Mill 2 where glowing slabs of steel are rolled into coils of steel. Steel, in whatever form, has become an indispensable part of everyday life. Whether we eat, travel, work or recreate; Steel plays a role in everything we do.
